What Are You Willing To Strip Away?

FULL MOON IN CAPRICORN

Q: What Are You Willing To Strip Away?

A: These stars are not messing around. Today we have a full moon in Capricorn, otherwise known as the Guru Purnima to some. Guru, in its pure meaning, is a sanskrit term that signifies the one who dispels darkness and engenders light. There is also a “heavy” connotation to the term in that the teacher sits with much earned wisdom and thus grounds truth in the form of teachings. On this day Buddhists celebrate the first sermon offered by Gautama Buddha at Sarnath, India. And with the current astrological aspects circling this week, I am sure we will each experience the weighted importance of this moon in some form or another.

A Cancer Sun, emotions already running high, illuminates the face of an authoritative Capricorn Moon. What can we see in our relationship to the paternal dynamics that exist in our psyche? Both father and mother wounds are up for review as well with this 4th house/10th house axis of the maternal (Cancer) and the paternal (Capricorn) signs within our zodiac.

COSMIC WASH CYCLE

Pluto conjunct the full moon also brings with it a strong indication that whatever has been festering under the surface will be brought to light to be reborn into a new way of being. The old rigid mind of sorts has no chance in this dynamic, so best not to fight for it. Are you willing to be stripped of some beloved habits or communication styles that have served you until now? It may become painfully obvious with Mercury opposite this moon that the very way you speak and think are being thrown into a rigorous cosmic wash cycle.

To the rescue comes our unsuspecting hero, Uranus, to bridge the gaps with a silver and electrical lining of inspiration. Although there is upheaval on both the internal and external realms, most likely showing up in a relationship or two, there is a way through it…and that is to go through it, yet with an open mind to the unobvious.

20 YEARS IN THE MAKING

This week marks the culmination of perhaps 20 years of preparation for this threshold crossing of self. It is as if I am reaching the peak of a mountain I have been climbing for as long as I can remember and I can only pray to have a few moments to catch my breath before descending into the next valley. I have feared this moment for a long time, or at minimum have felt intense trepidation. I know the journey is just beginning again in many ways, but from this vantage point I am overjoyed to feel relaxed and tearfully grateful to my Father in Heaven for having made it this far. Our lives are a geometric hologram of cycles upon cycles. I am nearing the end of a major cycle by the light of this moon and thus am preparing to inhale the next.

May this powerful Guru Purnima moon enlighten your journey with the deep wisdom of your inner being. May you receive the gift of the weighted truths that can ground your soul into realities yet unfathomed. May you open your heart to the truths awaiting you, like keys to your next adventure. May you let go and let God! Much love and celebration upon this full moon!
