Playful?
THE CHILD WITHIN US
Q: Playful?
A: Who else is feeling the paradoxical blend that is this moment? The expansiveness, so full of hope, possibility, and creativity. Also, the contrast perhaps? Both the sobering and contractive realm and the jubilant, celebration can be found within the full spectrum that is humanity at large, coming in every shape, size, color, and origin.
MAJESTIC BEINGS
My hand is raised, I am here with each of you in this orbit, weaving in, out, and through the tapestry of our shared experience. It is not always pleasant, and these AI days, not always real, however, it is still majestic and at times excruciating. So, what does it mean to be human?
I don’t know the answer to this question beyond my exploration as one, but I love to chew on this question. Especially when having the privilege of spending time with little ones. These new Beings are so fresh and full of light, clear-minded, and inspired by the simple and profound practice of play. Remember being enamored and curious with the sound of “crunch” or new colors, shapes, rolling balls on the floor, squishy stuffies, and books about animals that make sounds when you push their picture? When every day was a new adventure of discovering yourself, learning how to move your body, encouraging new thoughts, and eventual sounds that led to the formation of your first words. All of this without any inhibition.
LIVING THE PARADOX OF LIFE
You may not remember these moments but I invite you to imagine yourself in those formative early years as you were arriving into your body, mind, and materializing your spirit into form. What an ecstatic experience. One that happened over years, months, weeks, days, and minutes. And may still, in this moment, be happening on various levels. Our humanness is much like the astrological calendar and we move similarly to how the planets move through time and space. Different parts of us birth, express and die simultaneously. Infusing and informing our human experience with lots of feelings, and complex situations to unravel. In other words, you are a walking galaxy, a living paradox of the synchronic formation of life and the dissolution of self, cells, and cycles.
As humans, we may very well be both new and old. Sometimes new in the body and very old in our soul. At other times we could be old in body and new in mind, especially if you are a perpetual student of life. Timelines may seem more linear than they are. And somehow, many of us are raised to consider life as one track of phases from birth, development, youth, young adulthood, the peak of life, slowing down, wise elder, the crazy old___, and (adding in some circularity here) eventually dissolving back to where we came from.
THE ICEBERG OF THE PSYCHE
In my experience and maybe in yours too, there are a lot of cycles within cycles, seasons upon seasons. The death, birth, and transformation of it all is on repeat from the micro to the macro, internally, and externally, in health, mind, relationships, body, work, activity, and so on. One of the reasons I find astrology so deeply revealing is the intricate mirroring of the psyche that can be found when diving into a birth chart. Initially, the view is from 30 thousand feet, looking at the very tip of the iceberg of the self. Depending on the karma, the alchemy, and the timing, a reading can dive very deep within minutes, plunging below the surface or beginning slower, wading into the waters of inner knowing.
ALWAYS SOMETHING NEW TO LEARN
Reading my chart for the last 20 years has been such a gift. Every time I look at it, I still see something new, every. single. time. That is what I would refer to as a phenomenon. And sharing my practice with many of you has been a true gift. During this potent Taurus Season full of sparkles and glitter, I feel a new inspiration emerge. An inspired recognition that several of you who’ve had readings with me have voiced your readiness to move to the next level of understanding this mirror.
I look forward to answering this call…
Until then, may you continue to explore the limitless terrain of your inner world with the curiosity and play of a child. And if that is out of the question, it may be time for a new answer. Just saying.
All my best to you and please receive the piece of my heart that lives inside these words.
