Ps. I would like to take the opportunity to thank my step-father, Rusty Palmer, for his 46 years of service in the fire department as he retires this week. Please join me in saluting this generous and courageous man!
Rusty, I honor you as Fire Chief for the last 16 of these years, and thank you for sleeping with a pager near your bed for 36 years as an on duty officer so you can save lives, for always being willing to leave your hot plate of food untouched when called to duty, and for caring so much for your community and their safety. I love you and am excited for you to lay the responsibility you have carried as an incredible leader for all of these years down so you can go mow the lawn with your headphones on and listen to your favorite music (hint hint <3)
