What Have You Learned in 2019?

The lessons of this year are still arriving by the truck full over here, how about you? Maybe the question is more of “What Was Easy in 2019?” The answer, nothing. Entire towns have been engulfed in flames, continuous mass murders proliferate at gunpoint, and the earth is on the brink of an unrecognizable landscape. Our heartbreaks are only deepening at the loss of what has been and now we find ourselves hard at work to face new inconceivable realities. I sense this thematic experience of being jolted into unforeseen new territories as one felt by many in the realms of health, family dynamics, politics, and the environment etc.

Are You Monogamous?

Yes. In past chapters of my life, I may have moved from one relationship to another with little room to breathe in between. Now, I hold that time between dear, and sometimes I think I am holding on to it perhaps a bit too tight, not truly wanting to let go of my coveted independence once again. Once I do, this next time around will be different than the last, for sure.

How Are You Preparing for the Next Decade?

Well, first I am in a deep review of the last one. Hmmm, definitely the most powerful, excruciating, inside-outing, heart-pounding, mind-riveting adventure thus far. I continue to peel back the layers of my psychic skin to see what residue has formed over this time from the consequences of my past actions. I’ll tell you, It isn’t pretty. Yet the more band-aids I rip off, the better I feel…eventually.

Is it Enough?

When in observation of the current world stage, courageously keeping my eyes open to the multiplying daily atrocities that currently plague our humanity, I ask myself – when is enough, enough? The human experience is no virgin to the full spectrum of love and hate, yet with the confluence of technological advancements to proliferate propaganda with such ease, are we now simply clearer of what has always been slurping under the surface? Is this the shadow in action? I would say, yes, absolutely and we have seen it again and again…but right now feels different. Why?.

New York or LA?

New York, obviously. There is nothing like waking up in a cocoon of a studio to meditate while life begins to pulse outside; the buzz can be felt from walls within walls. A new day and the organized chaos consumes every part of the whole. Energy. Aliveness. Possibility…

What Does Holy Week Mean to You?

An epic question for epic times. My experience of this time of year has transformed dramatically from my youth and continues to shapeshift as I traverse my own understanding of what “Holy” means. When I was young it meant scavenging for Easter eggs, chocolate and flowers. It was a time when my family would come together, mostly for brunch since they weren’t religious, and share quality time together.

Who is Pluto?

When Pluto arrived onto the astrological scene, it was first referred to as Planet X. There was an ominous energy that arose in the collective psyche with new awareness pointed towards the epic power radiating from this unknown, mysterious and controversial planet. An eleven-year-old girl, Venetia Burney is accredited for having named the planet after the God of the Underworld when her grandfather read to her from The Times about the Planet’s discovery in 1930.

Although invisible to the eye, the inner workings and the profundity through which we are collectively, and I dare say individually, marked by Pluto are undeniable. As with all planets, Pluto has two faces, the higher and more regal expression of itself which has been associated with the Roman Goddess of Minerva – ruling strategic warfare and wisdom as well as the deeper, darker and more infamous qualities of Hades – Lord of the Underworld.

You Have the Right to Remain Silent?

Yes. And I also have the right to speak. There is a considerable amount of energy that goes towards silencing those who have lived unique experiences, witnessed compromising situations or that have something to say that could incriminate the silencer. People have been murdered for the knowledge that rests upon their tongue. Others, tortured to either speak or remain silent. Can we see that the power is equal? That silence when authority requires an answer is met with aggression and threat? That the threat of speaking when those of power wish to hush the witness can lead to death?

Do I Hold My Tongue Or?

Do I speak my mind? A very wise teacher shares that it is just as erroneous to speak when one should be silent as well as to be silent when one is to speak. This one sentence is full of profound consequences and pretty much sums up this Gemini full moon. Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and is currently expressing retrograde through our minds eye, inviting us to review our thoughts and the words that form from them.

Are You My People?

We the People of the current state of being are all in the same boat. There is no getting off this boat unless we transition out of this body. This body? My body. Your body? We each have a body. Same, same, but different, different. Who judges our bodies? Do I? Do you? Take sides? Take care. This boat may sink if we don’t take care…of each other.
