What Does This Moment Say to You?

Q: What Does This Moment Say to You?

A: It’s a mixed bag baby, it’s a mixed bag. Politics have become mere entertainment, resembling a badly written horror flick that doesn’t end well and yet hope does exist in the hearts of many people I know, including my own. Perhaps beyond hope there is a subtle hum from the most High, a resonance of faith that induces love to spread amongst ourselves as a lasting antidote to the current disasters we are facing.

Our Amazon is burning. This is a fact. We won’t truly know the severity and true consequences of these fires for years to come, however, we all feel an indescribable grief co-existing amongst us whether conscious of it or not. Simultaneously there are more environmental heroes/heroines and organizations than ever before on the ground, in the rough and tough of it, making a difference with their lives and I am grateful to know a few of them.

Guns are killing us. We are living in a terrorist state of affairs. This is bleak and without actual and utter legislative reform or at minimum universal background checks, we may as well say goodbye to the illusion of safety we carry today. Despite our efforts to change the laws, I dare to say that isn’t enough. We need to change our minds.

Change is certain, it is indeed the only thing that is. This is reflected in every story we hear, read, or observe closely. Change is prevalent in every industry from medicine, real estate, Hollywood, tech,  education, and so much more. It’s in everyone’s face, in our anti-social media, in our relationships, in our health, on our earth…so what is the invitation?

To change with it. And I am not saying ‘to go with the flow’. Rather, I am referring to swimming upstream. Change is neutral, either for better or worse and that could be relative depending on the individual and circumstances. Regardless, if we see the world changing in ways that do not feel aligned with the world we want to co-create, then it will require an effort to swim in new directions towards a different future.

I know I’ve set myself up for a lifetime of swimming upstream; I’ve already accepted it and I’ve been practicing for a long while. As mentioned, I live with a growing faith that continues to swell on a daily despite the oncoming traffic of real and ‘fake’ news. So how does one digest this moment as of late with all of the above swirling around in our conscious and unconscious awareness?

From over here, and on one hand, I am still climbing out of some sort of exhaustion from having to rise to the occasion on what feels like one too many occasions in recent months. On the other hand, my mind is blown with possibility as I recognize that the shifting tides are actually bringing in the new. Out with the old, in with the unknown. Out with the fear, in with the faith. Out with the chaos, in with the clarity. And the tides continue…in and out, in and out.

It’s a new moon and goodness am I grateful for a fresh moon cycle. This one promises to push us into work mode, to get organized and prioritize our ‘tada’ lists with exceptional clarity. I welcome it, as well as the unpredictability from a harmonious trine with Uranus chiming the cosmic notes of Mars, Venus, Mercury, the Sun and our Moon all radiant in stellium fashion in Virgo. In other words, there is music to the madness, there is calm amongst the chaos, there is magic intermixed within this bag of the mundane.
