And Justice for All?

Q: And Justice for All?

A: A powerful new moon calls us inward for cultivating our inner power within the dreamy dimensions of Pisces. Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream, and each of us does as well. What is your dream? The one that is bigger than you, that is more illuminated than the limited scope of your current vision? The one that will change the world for the better? I dare you to discover it…

My heart races in this moment of potent review with Mercury in retrograde urging us towards new levels of honesty within ourselves. With being truthful comes new levels of epic responsibility. Are we up for facing the facts? Those that are real and not based on the false? Are we willing to do the hard work of strengthening our muscles of discernment so we can clearly navigate the muddy waters of the illusory ego?

We have created the current disaster that consumes the world stage. Each of us has played a part, big or small, either intentionally manipulating others or going along with those who have. Truly, we fall into one or both of these distinctions whether in business, relationships, with ourselves...have we not betrayed another in order to ensure our own comfort?  Maybe we unknowingly were led by false prophets or ‘gurus’ full of self-fulfilling prophecies of personal gain. Maybe we were enticed by the temptation of power and have become those very people we once despised. In most cases, we have been both, victim and predator in different moments of life. It isn’t pretty to recognize this, yet can you? Can you see that we have the capacity to both live in and outside our lines of integrity?

I appreciate the metaphoric illustration that we are both angels and demons, depending on the choices we make. Confronted with a decision, eventually, if you follow the future thread long enough, one path leads to imprisonment, the other to freedom. Are you starting to see more clearly as you peer into the collective noise? Can you still taste the difference between that which is virtuous and that which is vice? The lines are becoming so deeply blurred. As the ‘leaders’ of the free world bring the global conversation to the base level of the most grotesque reality show we avoid imagining, perhaps we recognize the severity and the necessity to fight for our consciousness. There is a war on our liberation, and we have the key to our freedom within.

War or transmutation? Another question I ache to explore further. As we inevitably face the epic constraints of polarized humanity, the lore of the Gordian Knot presents itself as reality. An oracle in the 4th century BC declared rulership of all of Asia to the one to solve the dilemma of the famous impossibly tangled knot. It is the metaphor of our moment. If we choose right or left, we choose war. The only option is to transmute the proliferation of this exhaustive energy of debate into something useful. As Alexander The Great took his sword to the knot, he seared the flesh of the woven bark by ‘coloring outside of the lines’ or ‘cutting the Gordian Knot’ by going beyond the limitations of perceived constraints.

Take politics as a current example, while appreciating the genuine qualities that speak truth from both sides, we are finding ourselves in need of a new government that can facilitate the voice of leadership that is possible from within. We have yet to see this, it only exists in our intuitive yearning for a leap beyond the current duality of right/left, good/bad, right/wrong. We’ll get there, it just may take some astral arm wrestling to pin us down to a surrender we’ve yet to discover, a humility we’ve yet to savor.

Until then, it appears the scene will get worse before it gets better, as it is always darkest before the dawn. However, that means we will get strengthened, unlike anything we have ever known. Maybe we’ve become too comfortable in our 80k electric cars and our $25 superfood smoothies? Maybe posting on Instagram isn’t how we will save the world. Maybe, just maybe, if we want to save the world, we will need to save ourselves first. The world will follow. Lead by example of what is possible. What is possible? Everything.
