What Does the New Moon in Aries Tell Us Today?
Q: What Does the New Moon in Aries Tell Us Today?
A: Welcome to the revolution. Change is never comfortable and yet we yearn for it, pray for it, and at times demand it through our activism. We have officially crossed over from Winter’s grasp into the renewal of Spring. And this Spring is unforgettable, to say the least. Every aspect of life as we have known it is now touched by the presence of change. There is no going back to where we have come from. Only forward my friends… and onward we go.
Astrology is a powerful tool for inner work. At this moment, the cosmic weather provides a mirror of a combined archetype that is unprecedented in our lifetime. Not only is this a new moon cycle in Aries, calling forth our internal warrior/ess to the front lines, we are also at the beginning of a new astrological year. This chapter will forever be etched in our souls…shall we dive deeper?
Let’s begin by saying, the themes we are working within are not new. The theater of the cosmos has a way of building up to the climactic reveal via unusual and scintillating plot twists established in Act 1. We are now in Act 2. #metoo, #climatecrisis, #timesup, #notmypresident, #womensmarch, #blacklivesmatter, #etc, #etc, #etc…(cue #quarantine and #coronavirus) have planted seeds within the collective psyche through the dramatic element use of foreshadowing.
We’ve discussed the massive ‘power’ play of the stellium of planets within Capricorn in these recent months. Today we have Jupiter conjunct Pluto conjunct Mars indicating amplification of the powers that be with aggression. The old rigid patriarchal milieu will not go down without a fight. Capricorn rules the political sphere, our governing structures, and our relation to time as a point of reference for navigating life. These areas are under extreme review, amidst radical upheaval that will eventually lead to actual change upon our world view, both from internal and external perspectives. The ramping up of drive for power at any cost will be fiercely met by the trine of these heavy hitter’s to our beloved Venus in Taurus. Significance? It is the women who will ground us in this time of crisis. See: childbirth.
It isn’t easy to change our mind, perhaps it is the hardest thing to do. Mercury in Pisces brings a much needed and deep resource of empathy to our collective mind. This in itself is a soothing balm, an invitation to love one another and compassionately see each other as ourselves. Love thy neighbor with physical distance and virtual hugs. On the subject of mind, care for yours now. Notice what you are feeding it, from where you receive your news…can you pause upon the conspiracy, judgments and or speculation enough to allow your thoughts to rest upon that which you are grateful for in this moment?
Saturn has made a transition into Aquarius…the air, literally is different. Innovation is the word of now. New structures and process flow, orientation to and our relationship with time, and a rebellious attitude are on the horizon. What will we co-create to form a new world together? With a square to Uranus, the unpredictable is inevitable, and did I mention rebellious?
Did someone say Karma? Well, yes, there is that too. This new moon is conjunct Chiron which is squaring the lunar nodes. Translation: We are in the midst of paying our debts, ancient wounds are coming up to the surface and profound healing is occurring simultaneously. Chiron is known as the wounded healer. We all have Chiron in our chart indicating a wound that urges us towards healing and can also draw us deep into our pain to show us the source of our suffering.
If there has ever been time for the saying “Let Go and Let God”, now is that time. You will be asked to let go. To let go of that which is familiar and to that which you wish to cling to, especially if it is subversively destroying you or others. As my dear friend Terces shared, we are all in this twelve-step program together.
So here we go. Open your eyes, feel your hearts, witness the colossal shifts that are amongst us, within us, and mirrored in the lives of our friends, families, companies, organizations, governing bodies, earth landscapes and in the stars…
Be well my friends and fellow explorers, may the seed of new life vision be nurtured by the love and compassion within your own heart.
“Progress within inner work often directly correlates to the level of intensity of the external circumstances to which we must respond...here lies the opportunity.”
