True Empowerment to the People?
Q: True Empowerment to the People?
A: To be fully empowered. To express our voice, our hearts, our creativity at volume. To live within the innate freedom that allows us to become who we truly are. Is this possible? Yes. Is it supported in the current reality we live in? No, not really. In a world that has been built upon greed, dominance, and manipulation, the actual freedom we seek is merely a myth, a fantasy. Until we do our inner work as courageous beings, we will remain enslaved to this world we helped create. Now it is our responsibility to undo this entanglement from the inside out. Yes, it is an inside job.
Just because we find ourselves in the midst of global change does not mean that these changes automatically translate into a more enlightened way of thinking and being. However, the invitation is solid! There is a beckoning toward a new possibility that is unraveling before our eyes. As the ‘known’ comes undone, the unknown expresses an insatiable allure, calling all rebels with a cause.
Perhaps one of the several reasons we are treading in such delicate waters economically and even psychically is due to the reality that all signs are pointing to a dissolve. As Einstein so eloquently stated, we cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it. Agreed! The same rigid mind cannot solve our worldly, existential dilemmas at this moment. We need new minds! And where do we find these? In the rubble of the old ones.
Is it possible to accept that this seemingly endless cycle of decay and destruction will lead to a new birth? It is always darkest before the dawn. Death, birth…you cannot have one without the other. True empowerment is a reclamation of self. To whom and in what ways have we given our power away? In more ways than we can even see. How many more spiritual ‘gurus’, executive leaders, or politicos need to fall before we can see clearly? Actually, the survival of the fittest attitude upon which our society thrives inherently asks us to give away our autonomy at certain moments of life. It is here where the true rebels come in, those adventurous enough to retrieve what is inherently ours in the first place.
To be a rebel…where do you fall upon this spectrum of being? For most of my life, I have known myself to liken toward the warrior archetype. In one pivotal moment, an ‘aha’ if you will, I was literally brought to my knees. I realized then that my false-self had been driving me from the inside - my desires, my passions. These aspects also identified as ‘warrior’. A warrior, yes, but fighting against my truth, against my being. I was fighting on the wrong team. This awareness both devastated me and inspired me. I knew then that I had a chance for a new life. A life of becoming the warrior my pure heart knows me to be.
Are you ready for the reclamation of your life? The one precious life that Mary Oliver speaks about so fervently? No one else can do this for you. Period. We have to rebel against the status quo, the way it has been. Thankfully, now that we have entered into the year 2020 and a new decade, it is ever more clear that the old rigid mind we have been adhering to is over, as in not fashionable whatsoever.
True empowerment can only come from within. It is your power and your honorable relating to it that will fulfill the destiny of your pure heart. There are so many options in this life. What will it take for you to choose your truth and to live it boldly without apology?
