Are You an Extraterrestrial?

Q: Are You an Extraterrestrial?

A: It is in moments like this on planet Earth that many of us may yearn for another time, another space, that feels more like “home” than what is currently being served. This is normal. It is natural to desire to be living in the “way it used to be”,  “when things were easy” and “when we could do this” or “that”.

Or perhaps we are becoming perpetual daydreamers of other lands, or even other planets that we pray to escape to---also normal in the face of extreme difficulties. Although nostalgia and escapism are ways to avoid feeling the reality of the moment, they merely mask the inevitable; to accept what is ours to feel, see, and experience in order to transmute the challenge into a new possibility.

There is no out. There is no planet B. There is no alternative other than to roar into this decade with all the lifeforce we can muster, and pierce the thick slime of depression coating a large majority of the population. How? Through deep, authentic,  and true inner work. We’ve got this...if we want it. And what is it that we need to “want”? Our freedom! Our truth! Our sanity! A new future…

Maybe we are extra-terrestrial. Maybe we are being asked to stretch into new skins of thought and new realms of our inner world in order to access the superpowers required to navigate such reaches of despair and anguish. And why the despair? It is the actual process we go through when we are dying to the old.

Perhaps some of us aren’t feeling the agony of change. Perhaps some of us are not quite at the doorstep in our personal lives. Others are fully immersed into the midst of the total discomfort of the dissolution itself. Regardless of where we find ourselves right now, it is only a matter of time before we either; decide to change our minds and hearts, or...are forced to change our minds and hearts. How stubborn are you?

If you are like the majority of human beings on this planet right now, we are quite stubborn in regards to change. Much more so than any of us would prefer to admit. Think of something you’d like to change about your life that has nothing to do with your hair, where you live, and what you call yourself. Think about a habit, a negative thought loop, a way of being that isn’t serving your true calling in life. How do we change?

Change requires absolute and astonishing courage. The only alternative is when we are forced to change by external circumstances in life and most of the time, it is because we didn’t choose to change ourselves, and our ways of being, beforehand.

Who truly knows where you are from? Beyond the city or town you grew up in, beyond the home where you were raised, beyond your parents, your mother’s womb---your story goes further than that. Feel into your personal threads of existence and start asking yourself questions of your cosmogenic origins. Are you an extraterrestrial? Maybe, just maybe you are.

We cannot change the world until we accept we are the world. This is the new conversation.
