Streamlined?
Q: Streamlined?
A: As 2021 is now upon us, it’s obvious that some of the astrological forecasts are on point. I feel the electric surge only gearing up as one consistent shock after another sparks new layers of release. Perhaps I didn’t fully let-it-all-go at the end of 2020 since I’ve been busy digging deep, excavating my startup in preparation for rebirth. Instead, I’m innovating in the resolution sphere as my whole life consists of everyday resolve. Streamline is my word for this year...what is yours?
streamline | ˈstriːmlʌɪn |
Verb [with object]
1 (usually as adjective streamlined) design or provide with a form that presents very little resistance to a flow of air or water, increasing speed and ease of movement: streamlined passenger trains.
2 make (an organization or system) more efficient and effective by employing faster or simpler working methods: the company streamlined its operations by removing whole layers of management.
Something I am noticing as the founder of a company is the deeply woven fabric that connects myself and identity to that which I have co-created in essence. When you bring a vision to life, you are a simple vehicle for that which wants to come through. There are ever so many ways that one can go when facing the future, i.e. every moment from here forward. To lead is to take the next step, to boldly walk into the unknown and preferably having done your homework. And now back to my studies, but first...
To streamline. When I worked at Patagonia HQ on and off during my formative years of career molding, I fell into a deep swoon with the objective and ad campaign “Light & Fast”. As the print coordinator assistant in the Art Department, I had the luxury and good fortune to continuously expose my eyes to powerful images of world-class athletes traversing death-defying feats around the globe in the most beautiful of locations. I soaked in their courage. I dreamt of their tenacity. I revered the magic within humanity.
And to this day, especially now, I am remembering the mantra--Light & Fast. I am magnetized to this as a way of being for me and Joan of Sparc. Personally, asking in what ways can I lighten my internal mental load and stress factors? How can I transmute and let go of what I am gripping out of “security”? Can I release and trust I will still find ground? May I become like the very flow of air or water itself?
For Joan of Sparc, it is slightly different. She is an exotic beast of sorts. A wild tiger of a business with a powerful vision, maybe she’s even a teenager in startup years (like a dog’s life maybe)? Regardless, she is Joan and she has taught me so much that I can’t keep track. Her wisdom of the ages, spanning from and steeped in ancient mysticism to future planetary supernaturalism, is a gift to receive. I am honored to be a mother to her and am intently listening for what she needs. We’ve come far together and now she has new lessons to teach me. Light & Fast? Yes, and to get there we will both have to spread our wings and fly.
This moment now is a curious one, full of awe-struck probabilities and lightning-fast change. I am enthralled as to what will come next and simultaneously in an internally profound bow to the powers that be. May what comes to be benefit all beings, may my next steps be valiant, may the adventure continue with my heart’s gaze upon the Lord of my life, and may each of us feel the power of love permeate into the depths of our being. Here’s to the streamline ahead.
We cannot change the world until we accept we are the world. This is the new conversation.
