What About When You Feel All the Feels?
Q: What about when you feel all the feels?
A: Besides eat Chocolate? Try to stay hydrated since I am mostly likely shedding tears at moments. Move my body and get the blood going, yoga is always my friend in these cases. I tend to write it out and look at my words as I ink them onto the paper of my journal. I sit, if I can, sometimes it is hard to sit still within the whirlwind of an emotional storm. Baths always feel good with crystals, salts and oils in the mix. I pray, I really do and it helps. I get on my knees within my heart and ask for help. Sometimes I realize I have forgotten this part, especially if it is a really strong moment. I call my close girlfriends. There is nothing like a soothing voice to bring some honey when in the bitterness of despair. I love my mom, so we talk, she is a wise sage and always brings my attention back to the earth where my feet need to be. If I had a fireplace I would curl up in front of it, instead I make a cozy nest and sometimes watch Netflix. As much as I can I also get outside, fresh air always does the soul good as it is a coming home of sorts. When I have the urge to go out because I feel anxious, I will first take a moment and stay in, observing where these feelings are coming from. If I am so far deep inside, I will encourage myself towards a walk by the river or an afternoon swim. Art is a great channel for emotions, pain and discomfort. So, I art…with a lot of color, music and words.
