Will You Hold My Hand?

Q: Will You Hold My Hand?

A: I open my eyes to you every morning,

And receive your kisses every night

I dream with you every moment in between,

And open myself to your light

It would be an honor to hold your hand.

The touch that electrifies me, inspires me and unwinds me

Takes me into the depths of me,

To see my utter humanity

I swim and quiver unto thee,

Yours is the only hand that can hold me

I shutter, I stumble, I pause, I trip

And then I relax as you caress my lips

I’m fearful, terrified, worried and concerned

And then you come and remind me of all that I’ve learned

That I’ll never be alone,

Not with you, not ever

That our bond is that which cannot be severed.

This moment, I will never forget

The moment you asked me to hold your hand…

And thankfully you are always there when I fall,

To help me and to encourage me, to know where I stand

The heat surges through me, the passion, the fire

If I were to deny you, I would be a liar

For your presence, your everything engulfs me in flames

This is not a moment, nor an energy to tame

It’s wild, it’s powerful it’s all consuming me

This is you and your invitation for me to truly be

Alive within your rapture,

Ready for the truth

For nothing’s more beautiful…

God, I love you
