Are You Breathing?

Q: Are You Breathing?

A: Under a knee? Behind a mask? Swarmed by locusts? In the midst of the sandstorm? Can’t summer in the south of France? Everyone has their relative anxiety-inducing reality. One equals death, the other equal inconvenience. We share a world and yet we each live in our own. There are as many different realities as there are people on this planet. Some people share common circumstances thus their days are similar, yet most hover inside a bubble of their own creation. Whatever it is, be it horrific, sad, or exhilarating and inspiring, it is familiar and, in that familiarity,  there is a false sense of security; or an idea that the world as I know it is indeed the world.

What if a world of unity was one of a shared reality? Where we could each express ourselves, and sing our voices and truths as the unique and exotic birds that we are, yet we all lived in the same tree of life? Instead, the current world stage offers a stark mirror of dualistic nature in this moment, black and white, democratic and republican, masks and no masks. What side are you on? And how is being on a “side” the answer, ultimately? Do we really think we can co-create a new future with such a penetrating divide?

And what about free will? This implies that I have a choice, yet the issue at hand is that we are navigating a choiceless paradigm. Thankfully, paradigms come in and go out with cosmic style, and one day this conundrum will dissolve as the new one arrives, bringing forth actual change. This isn’t something that happens to us as a collective, rather the paradigm of the moment is a state of being that we individually choose. To clarify, when the collective mind shares a common state of being, we all consciously or unconsciously agree upon the current paradigm. The irony, we are unconsciously choosing to live before the choiceless scenario.

An example. It feels like we don’t have a choice when the two candidates for the presidency are geriatric white men, both accused of sexual misconduct, have a historically racist track record, and feel or have felt they have ownership over the bodies of women, not to mention they collectively raised over a quarter-billion dollars in campaign donations last month alone. The result? This election will be a very expensive ad campaign designed to convince us of who is the lesser evil. And isn’t that why we’ve gotten lost in this agreement to live in a choiceless paradigm in the first place? We’ve given up on what is possible, we have settled out of laziness and fear and internally lament…Won’t someone just make this all go away??

The only way around this is through it. Whoever “wins” this election, as we vote “against” the other rather than “for” anyone, will be the “choice” to sit upon the White throne. They will in turn have to be the leader of the choiceless moment. They can either drive this illusion into the fertile soil screaming, clanging, and vice-gripping all the way out of terror, or from a place of true humility, they could allow the decrepit and corrupt system to dissolve—uncomfortably, yes, yet with dignity nonetheless.

A full moon lunar eclipse in Capricorn, charged by a sparkling trine with Uranus, wraps up this recent eclipse season with some panache. With so much “retrograde” circulating within the starlit skies, it isn’t a surprise we are still in a holding pattern of the great unknown. Saturn has retro-returned to its earthly terrain of Capricorn until December 17th as Mars has entered into its fiery realm of Aries, only to go retrograde September 9th-November 19th. Both of these powerful agents emulating discipline and action are in transit through the kingdoms they reign. They will be exposing new opportunities for us to align with our right action, while retrograde, and instill the discipline to maintain it once direct again. Watch for these themes playing out in your inner and outer world.

The unpredictable nature that surges through the freedom-seeking Uranus trine, is strangely in tune with the US holiday Independence Day. One has to ask, now that we are actually looking to our history with truth in our veins, do our holidays actually mean what they say or say what they mean? Is Hallmark the next statue to tumble and fall? What did Jesus mean when he said,...And the truth shall set you free – John 8:32? It appears our freedom has a high ticket price, costing us our beloved illusions and comforts. And nothing can compare to the priceless experience of our true liberation. Let freedom ring!

We know the drill by now, every birth is preceded by a death. My oh my what rebirth awaits this nation if the rebirth is as light, as the death is dark. We’ve been living in the darkness for far too long! Time to wake up, school awaits us on this early morning of possibility.

A very favorite phrase of my heart is too appropriate for the decade at hand…This too shall pass, and there will be more…so hold on tight, and let go.
